Archie Campbell Biography


Best known for his long run as a regular on the TV syndicated hit show, Hee Haw, Archie Campbell had a long career as a Country comedian. In the days of live radio Archie Campbell was a fixture on stations in Bristol, Chattanooga and Knoxville before coming to Nashville in 1958 where he became a regular on the nationally broadcast Prince Albert segment of The Grand Ole Opry. In the sixties Archie Campbell recorded for R.C.A. mostly narrative material like "The Cockfight," "Rindercella," "Trouble In The Amen Corner," and "The Men In My Little Girl's Life." Archie Campbell also had a bit of singing success, charting in several duets with Lorene Mann.
