Alan Jackson Biography

Alan Jackson could not have come into country music at a better time. Alan was one of the most popular male stars of country music during the 90's. He delivered the total package to country fans- a genuine honky-tonk sound with a contemporary flair, a wholesome image, and a great knack for writing solid country hits. He got his start singing gospel tunes at church as a young kid in Newnan, Ga. Alan Jackson was discovered when his wife, Denise; an airline stewardess, saw Glen Campbell in an airport and passed along Jackson's demo tape. Jackson was the first artist signed onto Arista Record's new country division in 1989. Jackson released his debut album, Here in the Real World which became a platinum-selling hit due to four Top Five hits including title cut, "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow," "Wanted," and "I'd Love You All Over Again." Alan Jackson's career launched into superstardom with the release of his follow-up album, Don't Rock the Jukebox. He continued with the hits way on through the nineties including his Christmas album with more of less widely-known tunes Honky-Tonk Christmas.
